Sinclair B. Ferguson is Senior Minister of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, South Carolina and Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. A graduate of the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, he is the author of some two dozen books, has authored numerous articles and has contributed to various symposia. His writing interests have ranged from works of scholarship to books for children. He has served as minister of two congregations in Scotland, one on Unst, the most northerly inhabited island in the United Kingdom, and the other at the centre of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. For more than twenty years he has been a member of the faculty of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and Dallas, and has served as a visiting professor in various other seminaries.

Sinclair and his wife Dorothy have been married for more than thirty-five years. They have three sons, a daughter, and three grandsons.

The renowned former minister of St Georges Tron Church in Glasgow needs no introduction and pays a welcome return to our conference platform. He does so to the delight of all who value and appreciate his great gifts as an expository preacher. His retirement provides many opportunities, national and international, to minister the Word of God in his own gracious and inspiring style. Conscious, therefore, of his busy schedule we count it a privilege to have him with us, looking forward to the ministry that he will exercise in our midst to the glory of God.
